He has returned to Africa to work for ten months in Namibia, where he is teaching at Ongwediva College of Education, and writing a national special education curriculum. Barbara Rosati Dantz 63 retired as a school counselor from Dansville Central School in Dansville, N.Y. GeorgeAnn Flaitz Carter 69 retired from teaching at Warsaw Central School in Warsaw, N.Y., after 33 years of service. 1970Sherry Smith Gibbon was named educator of the year by the New York State Council for the Social Studies (N.Y.S.C.S.S.) at its annual meeting in 2003. Sherry, who is social studies department chair at Penn Yan Academy, is also vice president of the N.Y.S.C.S.S. Barbara Brookins Lindauer retired from teaching special education in July 2003. Dennis Upton retired from his teacher/mentor position with the Kenmore-Town of Tonawanda School System. He is now doing improvisational comedy in the Buffalo area.

1971Pamela York Klainer has authored a book, "How Much is Enough? Harness the Power of Your Money Story and Change Your Life" (Basic Books, 2002). Pam, a workplace consultant, speaker and author in the fields of financial services, human development and faith-based education, presented a breakfast workshop in Rochester last year, titled "Leaving a Lasting Legacy." The event was co-sponsored by the Rochester/Geneseo Advocates Program, the Geneseo Alumni Association and the Geneseo Foundation. Charles Newton retired from teaching sixth-grade at Gowanda Central Schools in Gowanda, N.Y.

1989Tom Brandt 89 spent an exciting 17 days in Tanzania last year, on a professional assignment with the U.S. Agency for International Development and U.S. Treasury Department. During this break from his regular job at the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, Brandt taught a seminar for members of the Tanzanian Parliament and Revenue Authority. The highlight of this amazing trip, however, was a weekend safari experience at Mikumi National Park, Brandt says.
